Have you seen the new show on NBC, "School Pride." They go into schools and fix up the environment to make it a more inviting atmosphere for learning.
They are currently giving away a free Computer Lab to one lucky school. Is your school in need of a computer lab, click here for the entry information. You must enter by November 1st at 3pm.
NBC Chicago is also doing a fun $5,000 Give Away in their Education Nation Section. It must be an idea that comes from students, but what a great way to get student invested in their own eduction. It could easily be incorporated into a Writing Workshop session. Click here for more information.

Tell us about a program you participate in or want to start up that needs funding, a program that will have a big impact on the level of education your school provides. The most innovative, game-changing idea will be awarded $5000."
