Looking for Great Reading Activities?

Here is a great website, with printable activities for students in Grades K-5. The Florida Center for Reading Research was established in 2002 by Florida State University. Their mission is to conduct research on reading, disseminate information about research-based practices, and to improve literacy outcomes for students in grades K-12.

When getting to the website, look on the right panel and you will see "Instructional Materials for Teachers." Click on your grade level, and you will be led to a page with Student Center Activities. They have categorized thier activities by; phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Each activity category has printable examples of centers.

There are many ways these activities can be used in the classroom. They can be used for reading centers, for small group intervention for struggling students, or for enrichment activities.

Check it out and have plenty of paper ready to print out some great activities!
